Keyword Density Analyzer V2.3 : Alexa data

2008-12-18

This update integrates Alexa/Amazon data into the keyword density reports. This is a feature for Ranks Friends only and you need to be logged in for it to work.

If you are logged in the report will always show a summary of the Alexa data:

  • Alexa rank
  • the number of incoming links
  • the average load time
  • the date the domain was first encountered by the Alexa crawlers.

  • Average Usage stats for the past 3 months, 1 month, 7 days and last day
  • The top 20 incoming links with the highest traffic rank
  • Up to 11 related links
  • DMOZ listings
  • Subdomains, including the pageviews per user per subdomain
  • Other domains owned
  • Visitors per Country

This data can be found under the Domain Traffic tab in the reports. You can switch the tabs without losing data.

Please note the Alexa data is not exported yet when exporting reports to Excel. This will be implemented soon, together with some needed fixes to the export system.

Keyword Density Analyzer V2.2

2008-12-10

New features in V2.2:

- Show special Google Ad Section targeting sections. The report will show the text of areas to emphasize and of areas to ignore.

- New option: ignore content within Google Ad weight=ignore Sections

<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->
this example text would be ignored
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

- New option: ignore content within robots-nocontent tags

If you are optimizing for Yahoo this may be a good setting for you. Everything within tags that have the class attribute set to "robots-nocontent" will be ignored.

<div class="robots-nocontent">
this example text would be ignored
</div>

- Text in page elements (alt tags, bold texts etc) is now separated by comma's in the report if there are multiple elements that contain text.

Bug fixes:

- Ranks Friends URL history updates again
- Personal Settings where not always remembered properly
- Better extraction of text from overlapping HTML elements
- Stopwords are now ignored when calculating Prominence if you enable the Stopwords filter

Keyword Density Analyzer V2.1

2008-12-09

This upgrade involves a few corrections to bugs introduced in version 2.0. Among other things:

- HTML comments are disregarded again when this option is set in the form
- The usage of custom stopwords is possible again

Keyword Density Analyzer V2.0

2008-11-25

Version 2.0 is a 80% rewrite of the existing perl code from version 1.9. This was needed to prepare for future expansions.

This upgrade does not include new features but it does include cosmetic changes to the starting form.
